Patrol Update w/c 12th April 2021

20th Apr 2021 | Residential

LSS are pleased to share that there have been no significant security incidents from within our patrol zones over the last week. With that said, several suspicious vehicles in both Radlett and Stanmore were seen off by our patrol vehicles. LSS are constantly on the look out for unexpected activity and behaviour and we continue to make our presence felt within our patrolled communities, helping to deter criminal activity. Whilst our patrol reports may, at times, seem repetitive in nature with little to report, we believe this is a result of the effectiveness of our security services and we greatly appreciate the positive feedback we have regularly received from residents. LSS are here to serve your community and protect your property so if you have any suggestions on how we can improve our service please feel free to contact us on [email protected] where your feedback will be greatly received.

Continued Catalytic Converter Thefts

As previously reported, the theft of catalytic converters continues to plague large parts of the UK, particularly in the South East, with the extracted precious metals selling for as much as £250. It can take less than a couple of minutes for a thief to remove a catalytic converter from a vehicle so we urge motorists to do all they can to help prevent falling victim.

  • Don’t park your vehicle half way on a curb. This actually makes it easier for thieves to get underneath the vehicle using a simple car jack.
  • Park in a garage or secured driveway when possible.
  • Have your catalytic converter marked for free by a participating garage. Find a local garage here or visit your local police constabulary website for more information.
  • For some commercial diesel vehicles consider fitting a catalytic converter clamp.
  • Put labels in your car windows stating that your catalytic converter has been marked.

Models including pre 2008 Honda Jazz models, Toyota Prius (2004 to 2016 inclusive) and Toyota Arius (2012 to 2018 inclusive), are most likely to be targeted.
