Patrol Update w/c 13th September 2021

20th Sep 2021 | Car Theft, Radlett, Residential

Over the last fortnight, LSS Patrol teams have continued to make their presence known in their respective patrol areas, keeping criminals at bay and helping residents feel safer.

Whilst we are pleased to report that no notable crimes have taken place, there have been several occasions where LSS officers have had to act quickly to avert potential criminal activity away from protected areas. Towards the end of last week and over the weekend, most notably in Radlett, suspicious individuals wearing dark, hooded clothing have been spotted by LSS officers searching through vehicle windows.

The first incident involved a hooded male in the early hours of the morning entering several resident driveways, inspecting vehicles, presumably in an attempt to steal. When a LSS patrol vehicle arrived on scene, the flashing patrol car lights forced the male into fleeing on foot. LSS officers chased after the suspect and police were subsequently informed.

On Saturday morning, again in the early hours, two males on pedal-bikes were spotted undertaking similar actions, presumably looking for an opportunity to steal an unsecured, or vulnerable vehicle. The individuals were spotted entering resident driveways and conducting quick searches through car windows. Once again, LSS patrol vehicles were alert and able to give chase before any vehicles were stolen or broken into. The suspects were pursued into Radlett High St. where police were once again notified.

These events highlight the importance of ensuring your home and vehicle security. Over the last year since we have introduced regular patrol updates to our client services, the most commonly reported subject is that of vehicle theft and it shows no signs of easing.
